This work proposed the hydrothermal synthesis methodology for the preparation of high-performance naphthalene diimide materials on a hundred-gram scale, and showed great commercial potential offering cost-effective production. Under the synergistic effects of π-π stacking and H-bonding networks, naphthalene diimide delivered excellent battery performance including high capacity/power, and long lifetime.
