Covalent triazine frameworks were employed as metal-free visible light photocatalysts for the efficient and selective oxidation of hydrocarbons under ambient conditions. The catalytic efficiency of the meticulously crafted thiophene-based CTF was remarkably similar to that of transition metal-based photocatalysts previously reported. This not only highlights the potential of CTFs but also enhances our comprehension of the mechanisms governing effective C−H activation within photocatalytic polymers.
